The Chapter has been granting wishes since 1969. This vast geographic area is the responsibility of our Provincial Office in, with a staff of, backed by a team of dedicated volunteers and a supportive board. Like the rest of the Foundation, we never turn down a wish child. We are able to do this thanks to the generous support of the public, corporate sponsors, planned gifts, donated goods and services and funds raised through special events. Together, we are working to make life better for children all over . Each year, thousands of Canadian children between the ages of three and 17 are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada is dedicated to granting an exceptional wish to every child. Established in 1984, Children's Wish is a national non-profit organization dedicated to fulfilling a favourite wish for children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses. Since its inception 25 years ago, Children's Wish has granted more than 16, 000 wishes for children and their families and fulfills approximately 900 wishes annually -- granting nearly three wishes everyday -- each being an individual adventure, carefully structured to meet the needs of that particular child. The foundation has never refused a wish to an eligible child. Children's Wish, a grassroots charity with chapters in every province and territory, relies on the generosity of its donors and volunteers to make certain that no wish is refused. Children's Wish has established itself as one of the most recognized registered charities in Canada and the most recognized organization when it comes to granting wishes for children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses.

SunWest is not about doing church to be "cool" or different. There is nothing unusual or new about SunWest that hasn't been at the heart of Jesus' church for the past 2000 years. Simply put, we are into Jesus and His purposes. Just like the Christ-followers who have come before us, we want to see and live out, with creativity and authenticity, everything Jesus invited us to communicate to the world around us. We have described that mission in a simple statement which declares our intent,

Through the work of community groups and volunteers, we provide about 2, 000 lunches each day. Lunches are prepared in our main kitchen, and in various other locations by community groups including retirees, parent groups and local businesses. Nourishment is available to any young person who arrives at school without enough to eat. BB4CK works with school staff members to identify needs and to plan how best to make sure hungry students get the nutrition required to think clearly and learn. By enabling better education outcomes, BB4CK gives students a hand up, not just a handout.

Alberta Barley is a farmer-directed, not-for-profit organization representing Alberta’s barley farmers. Alberta Barley collects a mandatory, but refundable, check-off and reinvests it to grow the barley industry—and its profitability. The organization works collaboratively within all levels of agriculture to achieve tangible results that benefit Alberta’s barley growers. As an organization, Alberta Barley firmly believes in the importance of grassroots representation. Without the support of individual farmer members, the organization would not be able to function. Every farmer who pays barley check-off dollars has a say in the decision-making process, providing a meaningful contribution to growing the entire barley industry. It is through this inclusive, ground-up approach that the organization strives to promote Alberta barley.

At the Canadian Intensive Care Foundation (CICF), we raise funds for life-saving intensive care research and education. Saving lives in a crisis situation is what we are all about. At any time - regardless of age, income or geography - people find themselves in need of intensive care. Here, the most desperate cases are found. Here, research and education is most valuable. Here, knowledge can have the biggest impact on who lives and who does not. Four out of five ICU patients survive and recover in another area of the hospital. One out of five does not - and so the reference to Five Chairs in CICF communications. We're committed to increasing medical professionals' understanding of the needs of critical care patients, and the treatments available for these patients. By providing some of the nation's leading intensive care researchers with grants, we ensure that tomorrow's most critically ill patients will enjoy better care and a greater chance of survival.
