Since 1998, the Calgary Homeless Foundation (CHF) has worked to reduce homelessness in our city. A home is a precious thing many of us take for granted. The late Mr. Art Smith, a leading Calgary entrepreneur, politician and philanthropist, founded the CHF in order to create a unified front to fight homelessness. As of 2008, the Foundation received a new mandate: to end homelessness in Calgary in 10 years. The Foundation is moving forward on implementing Calgary’s 10 Year Plan in partnership with the many homeless serving agencies, the private sector, our government partners, the faith community, other foundations and all Calgarians to end homelessness in Calgary.

WHY DID WE JOIN FORCES? We believe in the power of art to transform the places and the lives we live. We share a passion for art that is relevant, meaningful, and challenging. We share a passion for Calgary to be a global city of choice. It is time to step up and put Calgary's voice into an exciting international dialogue. The ASPB represents biologists in government, industry, consulting, education, not for profit and enforcement. The Society’s main purpose is to regulate the professional practice of biology in the Province of Alberta to protect the interests of the public. The ASPB is the only organization for biologists that is registered under Provincial laws, and it achieved this status in 1991 after the approval of The Professional Biologists Regulation and the Alberta Professional and Occupational Associations Registration Act. Registration of the Society gives its members the exclusive use of the title “Professional Biologist” and its abbreviation “P. Biol.” as well as "Biologist in Training" and its abbreviation "BIT."
