Contemporary Calgary began with a collaboration of visual arts partners including the Institute of Modern and Contemporary Art (IMCA), the Art Gallery of Calgary (AGC) and the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MOCA) in co-operation with members of the Calgary visual arts community. WHY DID WE JOIN FORCES? We believe in the power of art to transform the places and the lives we live. We share a passion for art that is relevant, meaningful, and challenging. We share a passion for Calgary to be a global city of choice. It is time to step up and put Calgary's voice into an exciting international dialogue. We are responding to a movement that is growing in Calgary. One that seeks a new cultural venue in a landmark building - an invitation to Calgarians to join together to explore, discover and imagine. We have joined forces to be a conduit in connecting art and audience, and we are united in our vision. We see new ways to collaborate, new ways to experi- ence art, and a new destination that will welcome and engage our entire community. We believe in the power of art that enlightens, invigorates, educates and communicates. We want to make sure every Calgarian has an opportunity to experience it.

Since 1998, the Calgary Homeless Foundation (CHF) has worked to reduce homelessness in our city. A home is a precious thing many of us take for granted. The late Mr. Art Smith, a leading Calgary entrepreneur, politician and philanthropist, founded the CHF in order to create a unified front to fight homelessness. As of 2008, the Foundation received a new mandate: to end homelessness in Calgary in 10 years. The Foundation is moving forward on implementing Calgary’s 10 Year Plan in partnership with the many homeless serving agencies, the private sector, our government partners, the faith community, other foundations and all Calgarians to end homelessness in Calgary.

How to provide for their family is often the last thought on many of our client's minds before they fall asleep at night, and sadly it's the first thought they awake to in the morning. WINS operates Three Family Resource Centres (FRC's) located in housing complexes throughout the city and centre's within its Dover and MacLeod Plaza stores. Serving as community hubs, the FRC's provide families with barrier free access to essential programs, services and resources that improve and support wellbeing. WINS is an essential resource for vulnerable families! As the situation with COVID -19 continues to evolve day to day in Calgary, Women In Need Society (WINS) assures our referring partners that our primary focus remains the health and safety of our clients, communities we serve and our employees and their well-being. WINS has a plan in place to minimize the potential risk of infection and is working by the recommendations set forwarded by Alberta Health Services

The Calgary Region Immigrant Employment Council (CRIEC) understands this dynamic and seeks to provide the appropriate solutions for both employers and skilled immigrants or internationally trained professionals (ITPs). The ASPB represents biologists in government, industry, consulting, education, not for profit and enforcement. The Society’s main purpose is to regulate the professional practice of biology in the Province of Alberta to protect the interests of the public. The ASPB is the only organization for biologists that is registered under Provincial laws, and it achieved this status in 1991 after the approval of The Professional Biologists Regulation and the Alberta Professional and Occupational Associations Registration Act. Registration of the Society gives its members the exclusive use of the title “Professional Biologist” and its abbreviation “P. Biol.” as well as "Biologist in Training" and its abbreviation "BIT."
