And the Ontario Heritage Trust plays a unique role for heritage in the province. Toronto Christian Resource Centre Self Help Inc. (CRC Self Help Inc.) was established in 1985, as a not for profit organization. Mainstay Housing is a non-profit agency which provides housing for mental health consumer-survivors. Mainstay rents are geared to incomes and are subsidized by the government. For those capable of independent living, we offer 867 units in a variety of housing options with some degree of support. We are the single largest non-profit provider of supportive housing in Ontario with 41 residential locations across Toronto. Permanent housing means our tenants, who also have a say in running the organization, have a place to call home. With a safe, affordable base from which to grow, other life changes become possible. Mainstay works with others to address the poverty, homelessness and stigma experienced by people living with serious mental illness. There is a commitment to improving the quality of life for survivors. The 15 person Board of Directors is comprised of tenants and community representatives.
