Maureen Kitchur has more than 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist and healer. She has consulted and taught all over North America for many years. Her clinical work is internationally published. She currently provides therapy, consults, teaches, and writes from her home base in Calgary, Canada. Maureen has extensive background in a variety of healing methods, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, clinical hypnosis, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, ) as well as in alternative energy healing practices. She has taught and consulted in the field of trauma and complex trauma using EMDR, and she developed a comprehensive treatment model called the Strategic Developmental Model for EMDR. Her model was published in EMDR Solutions: Pathways to Healing in 2005, (edited by Robin Shapiro and published by W. Norton & Co., New York.) Maureen also has a long history in the treatment of sexual behavior issues, and she recently spoke at the United Nations regarding the psychological and neurobiological issues underlying sexual addiction. She provides education and consultation in this specialty. Maureen has a strong interest in complementary medicine and natural hormone replacement. She also provides couple therapy using the Imago Relationship Dialogue Model developed by Dr. Harville Hendrix. For many years, Maureen has also incorporated spiritual principles into her practice. Recently she has begun to integrate current quantum physics into her approach, teaching how the Law of Attraction may be linked with psychological healing to produce a dynamic and expansive life. Her new book incorporates many of these areas of wellness, healing and spirituality. She now teaches the empowering material from her book to clinicians and the layperson.

ALS can strike anyone, at anytime, regardless of age, sex or ethnic origin. # The usual age of onset is 55-65, but people under 20 have been diagnosed. ALS is not a rare disease. Approximately 2, 500 - 3, 000 Canadians over 18 currently live with ALS In at least 90% of cases, it strikes people with no family history of the disease. ALS always results in death. 90% of people with ALS die within 5 years of diagnosis. A person with ALS can require equipment and care valued at more than $240, 000. The cause is unknown. There is no known cure or treatment that prolongs life significantly - yet.
