A Non-Profit Corporation Venture Place is a Non-Profit Co-Operative Corporation. Our business is to provide members of the corporation with housing. The co-operative owns a 6-story apartment building with 102 one, two and three-bedroom apartments. You don’t buy your unit, you join the co-operative. But you have the same security as ownership because you and the other members control the corporation that owns the building. Co-operatives operate on the understanding that people can live better and achieve more through co-operation.

The Ontario Student Nutrition Program is a provincial initiative to provide nutritious food to children and youth, helping students attend school well nourished and ready to learn. Student nutrition programs are community-based and rely on volunteers. The individuals who prepare and serve meals to students are usually parents/caregivers, teachers, principals and other school staff who are not paid for this work. Their commitment, dedication and support are essential to the ongoing operation and success of the programs.

For 20 years, Mio Manz Charities has been fulfilling dreams within the Windsor community for some very special children who have either a life threatening illness or severe disabilities. Since its inception in 1992, Mio Manz Charities’ Annual Celebrity Golf Benefits have provided some much needed funds to local deserving kids by dedicating, for the most part, our proceeds to the Sunshine Foundation of Canada while supporting several other local charities. In 2000, founders David Batten and Eddie Mio started a Mio Manz Endowment Fund with the goal of reaching $1 million in ten years. That goal was quietly achieved in 2010 and the endowment continues to grow. This memorable milestone coined the phrase that truly exemplifies the driving force behind the charity: There are “One Million Reasons Why!”
