Some of the techniques I use are the potter’s wheel, hand-building, extrusion, and slab construction. It is not the only medium I use for artistic expression but it is an important medium. Here at the studio there is an exhibition gallery area for my work and featured artists and I also provide lessons in clay and sculpture with customized times. My education includes a Associate diploma from the Ontario College of Art, a Computer Programming Certificate from Humber College and currently half-way through an Under-Graduate Honors Degree in Visual Arts at Brock University. I have exhibited sculptures and pottery in numerous art galleries and from Lincoln Center in New York City to Key West, Florida I have exhibited and sold at hundreds of art shows. There is a wall mural that I sculpted and installed at the National Council of Jewish Women in Toronto to honor people who have contributed greatly to the community and in the Philippines I studied with native potters using techniques unchanged for millennium. I no longer travel to shows and have I settled down in Welland enjoying a well equipped studio to explore and learn more about art. I do hope that you find time to drop by and if your an artist and would like to talk me to about an exhibition please contact me.

The original Carnegie Library was built in 1923. Additions were added in 1961 and again in 1974. It was one of the last Carnegie Libraries to be built in Canada. The Welland Historical Museum moved into the building in the spring of 2006. The building was recognized as being historically significant by the City of Welland, and on Saturday, October 14, 2006 was designated under the Ontario Heritage Act. The Welland Historical Museum possesses a major collection of artifact, archival, and art material related to the history of Welland, its varied cultures and the Welland Canal. It includes shipping and marine artifacts, industrial and agricultural collections, military, sports, social history, household furnishings, costumes and textiles, photographs, newspaper and land records. The Museum is grateful for additions to its collections of community history. The addition of objects and archival items to the museum’s permanent collection are acquired items and collections of historical value through gift and loan. The Welland Museum strives to preserve objects, natural history specimens and other material relating to the history and prehistory of the city and area. The Welland Historical Museum collects both reference and archival material of local historical significance with particular focus on Welland and the four Welland Canals. Researchers will find material about local families, black history, buildings and monuments, business and industries, communication and transportation, the community, government and human services, the military, sports and the arts. Our holdings also include city directories, maps, insurance plans and an extensive collection of photographs, copies of which are available for purchase upon request (a fee does apply).

BEVERLY SNEATH`I paint because I have a need for the way art adds balance to my life. I think of painting as a language - a translation of subject and essence into the language of the medium. Graceful flowers - light effects in serene landscapes - the innocent gesture of a child - the joyful movement of a dancer - light and shadow shaping personality in a face - I want to share with the viewer that which captivates me.` Beverly Sneath grew up in rural Ridgeville. A love of Nature and gardening is reflected in her work. Watercolour is a favoured medium in subjects including portraits - florals - landscapes and nature portraits - animals - children - dancers and ethereal fairies. She also produces acrylics - silk paintings and bronze sculpture. With many years of experience she teaches weekly classes in watercolour and acrylics as well as workshops for adult groups. Bev also offers art workshops for elementary schools. Summer Art Camps for kids are held at the Gallery on the Lake in Buck
