A dozen years and still rising Bubby Rose’s Bakery was born of passion and hope in 2002. You’ll find our busy bakery and cafe in Mosaic Village — a unique and quirky corner of downtown Victoria. It was a dream come true for Darioush and Dorothy when they adopted it in 2014, building upon the original owners’ love of delectable food and good company. We believe our unpretentious atmosphere filled with happy chatter and tasty comfort food is the best escape from a grumpy day. Our team has approximately thirty staff — a delightfully friendly bunch dedicated to ensuring you enjoy Bubby Rose’s Bakery as much as they do. But if you don’t have time to sit and mingle, you can grab our sweet and savory favorites to go. We also offer a scrumptious menu of vegan and gluten-free options to satisfy friends who have special dietary preferences. Around and about Victoria, our daily wholesale service brings mouthwatering creations to restaurants and coffee shops. For those wanting to share our culinary magic at an office party or private event, we’d be glad to propose a menu. Our customers mean everything to us. We get to know regulars by name and we try to remember your orders. Our community is important to us too. We frequently give back by donating to non-profit organizations and fundraising led by customers for causes that are important to us all. The bakery name reflects its Jewish roots where “Bubby” is Yiddish for grandmother. Darioush and Dorothy hope to carry on this legacy of care for customers and the community. With awards for our cinnamon rolls and sticky buns, we’ve also received accolades in print and on the radio.
