At Lotus Therapy, we believe that therapeutic relationship is the most important aspect of and indicator for successful therapy treatment and healing. We place high value on compassion, authenticity, and the healing power of connection and belonging. We believe that self-compassion is an incredibly powerful tool for healing. An attitude of kindness can be cultivated by simply being in the presence of a therapist who is caring and kind. Learning about the way the nervous system works and the physiological and psychological effects of trauma, help us develop self-compassion by realizing that our struggles are not intentional, but can be explained in scientific terms. Therapy can provide the space for clients to connect with their deeper selves and self-compassion naturally arises when we are able to view ourselves more clearly. For many of us, having someone actively attune to and track our states and feelings is a new experience and one that is critical to healing. This way emotional experiences can be linked to feelings of safety and connection. It also changes the way we relate to ourselves and our feelings and help us approach difficult emotions with more curiosity and compassion. When others treat us with care and compassion, it helps us relate to ourselves in positive ways as well. We use approaches that go beyond traditional talk therapy (discussing events or receiving advice) and work with the brain, body, and nervous system to treat the underlying issues at their root.

We are a team that is passionate about helping people, and strive to make sure you get the most out of every visit here. All of us are very passionate about making a difference, and this shows in every treatment we provide. North Vancouver Chiropractor Dr. Bo Gregson was born in Arlington, Texas and grew up in Abbotsford, BC, graduating with honors from Yale secondary. Throughout high school Bo competed internationally in wrestling, finishing with a silver medal at the 2003 Cadet Pan-Am championships. Following high school, Bo attended Simon Fraser University on an academic/athletic scholarship to study kinesiology and take his wrestling career to the next level. Bo earned the Canadian Inter-University Sport Rookie of the Year award in 2005 and became a 3-time National Champion. The years of physical exertion in practice and competition, and continually testing the boundaries of his body, didn’t come without a price, and Bo struggled with injuries to his neck and back. Medical and physiotherapy treatments proved unsuccessful, but chiropractic treatments delivered results that enabled him to continue wrestling, stronger and healthier than ever. Bo was motivated to provide the same health benefits to others, and when he completed his Kinesiology degree he chose to move to Portland, Oregon to study Chiropractic at the University of Western States. He earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic with Magna Cum Laude honors in 2012. Proud to live in one of the most active and healthiest communities in Canada, Bo’s goal as a chiropractor is to provide patients on the North Shore with all they need to reach their maximum health and potential. Bo uses kinesiotaping, stretch therapy, and instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation along with traditional chiropractic adjustments to provide the best treatment for neck pain, foot problems, shoulder injuries, and hip pain.

Alo, my name is Nita Agustin, and I go by she/they pronoun. I’m your friendly neighbourhood youth counsellor based in Burnaby, BC, ready to help you find yourself on this journey called life. If you’re expecting a typical, “professional” looking counsellor, I will warn you, that’s not me. I show up the way I want my clients to show up - as my whole self. I laugh loudly. I speak openly and I encourage my clients to do the same I’m committed to creating a space to make my youth clients feel safe, heard, validated, and affirmed no matter what they bring into the room. As a youth counsellor, I draw a lot on my personal experiences to guide me in my work with my youth and young adults clients. Growing up queer in Indonesia and making a big move to Vancouver, BC, in 2011, has framed a lot of how I view the world and given me valuable insight on navigating LGBTQIA2S+ issues, cross-cultural changes, life transitions, and finding yourself. When you come see me, I want you to feel at home and welcome to be yourself. I’m not here to be an authority in your life, but an ear to listen to, a shoulder to cry on, and a voice of compassion, understanding, and motivation.
