Polar Feet® began as I was searching for unique Christmas gift ideas at a fabric store in Vancouver in 2003. Standing in front of a bolt of cow print fleece fabric I suddenly thought, "Wouldn't cow socks be fun!" I sewed socks for everyone on my list and sent them off. All were delighted, and I found when I wore my own pair around town, people would stop me and ask where did you get those great socks!? The idea of developing this into a business of my own slowly took root and I made the leap--registered my business name, got my licenses, signed up for trade shows...so much to learn and do! At my first trade show in spring of 2004 I had Cowsox and Snowflower socks. That was it. I didn't have a fancy booth or much of a display but the bright colours and fun prints caught the eyes of passers-by and I got a few orders. I was ecstatic! And I realized I needed more colours and more products for the next time around. I discovered that I have a passion for designing new products, and a good eye for the details that go into producing a high quality product. I won't compromise in what I want to bring to my customers: outstanding quality, fair prices, and personal, super-responsive customer service. Our products are excellent value, beautifully made, and a real person will answer the phone and answer your questions or address any issues to your satisfaction. No phone trees!

Since opening the doors to her own atelier in December 2008, Malene has been dressing some of Vancouver’s most notable talent. Inspired by timeless, unique, European style, all designs are sophisticated and created with femininity and elegance in mind. The collections offer a variety of evening wear, professional wear and custom designs. All pieces are designed with unexpected details to create a nouveau classic expression and are made locally in Vancouver B.C. Canada. Born and raised in Denmark, Malene Grotrian graduated in 2004 from the Danish design school, Teko Center Denmark. After furthering her design and fine art studies in Italy, Malene re-located to Canada. For over four years, Malene worked with leading Canadian designers honing in on her skills and love for detailed tailored designs and couture fashion. It was during this time that she discovered her true passion for women’s evening wear and her signature bustier, these experiences inspired the inception of the Malene Grotrian label. In September 2009, within her first year of business, Malene has earned the attention of the fashion elite and a personal invitation to show at exclusive New York Fashion Week where she will unveil her 2010 Spring/Summer Collection. Each season consists of essential pieces that every wardrobe needs. We then design the next layer to compliment the basic and to create many different looks with a few pieces. We then complete the collection with a few avante guard designs. Our colours are on trend but our silhouettes are fashion forward. Our collections are always Made in Canada. Glencora Twigg, Jessica Vaira and Christine Hotton. Having met in design school and established twigg&hottie boutique and our own individual lines we three were finally ready to design together. As in the store, we share all the work and all the reward of We3 designs. Glencora is a born and bred Vancouverite and former International swimmer. All those years with her head under water has made her a real dreamer. Always thinking about what is next made her the best choice for strategic planner and Marketing Manager. Glencora’s aesthetic is modern with clean lines and controlled volume. Christine grew up on a farm in Northern Alberta - but you would never know it to see her now. Having recreated herself as an modern urban woman Christine’s precision volunteered her to be our Pattern and Sample Maker as well as our Controller. Christine’s aesthetic is tailored and edgy. Jessica landed in Vancouver after a childhood of running through the forests on Vancouver Island to establish her music career. A living artist who splits her talents equally in song writing and fashion. Her velvet voice landed her the role of Sales Representative and her need to have all things in their place made her our best bet for Merchandise Manager. Jessica’s aesthetic is an intersection of comfort and creativity.
