Lynne, instruction following implant very similar to extraction; avoid spitting, bathe but do do 'swish' affected tooth area. Brush gently and try to avoid bleeding for first three to four days. After that, brush normally but if bleeding occurs, lighten up. You want to avoid plaque build-up. Rinse mouth with a non-alcohol mouthwash. I went further the first week and only ate soft foods that reduced the need for flossing but brushed normally after four days. My assessment after two weeks was good and told to proceed with normal brushing. Hope this helps, Marc.
