After a sewer backup in my house on May 7th, Tisdale Plumbing and Heating was called into my house by First On Site to inspect my furnace. The technician, K****, who came into my house started measuring for a replacement furnace right away. I told K**** that this was coming out of my pocket. When I asked why it needed to be replaced K**** informed me it was due to sewer damage. As K**** was leaving I asked him again if he was sure it needed to be replaced. He then performed a visual inspection and told me the secondary exchange was leaking. I have a CO detector 3 feet away and said if it was leaking I would know. He proceeded to tag my furnace and shut off the gas to it. He left the furnace disassembled. He left me 3 plug in heaters to heat my house with two young children. Tisdale has submitted a quote stating sewer damage to First on Site and my insurance company, but tagged my furnace stating corroded heat exchanger. I didn't feel like this was right so I had 2 other local contractors come in and give me a quote for a new furnace. Both of them looked at my furnace and said there is nothing wrong with it. I told my insurance this and they advised me that if I pay Tisdale to replace it it is insurance fraud. My wife called Tisdale on Friday June 6th to come and reconnect and repair my furnace. She spoke with K**** who laughed and hung up on her. I also called later and spoke to K**** and she hung up on me. I called back and spoke with B***. B*** said "Am I dealing with someone retarded?" and then hung up on me. I had probably raised my voice, but I was not rude to either of them. On Monday June 9th, I paid another local heating contractor in to inspect my furnace. He told me there was nothing wrong with my furnace. I had Tisdale come back to my house to put my furnace back together after they had left it in pieces. K**** and K**** both showed up. They proceeded to take pictures of my heat exchanger and put another tag on my furnace for a corroded heat exchanger. I also posted a review on www.talktimmins.com On Wednesday June 11th I received a voice mail from Tisdale threatening me with legal action regarding this posting. They informed me that I had until 5pm that day to remove it or they would pursue legal action against me for slander and defamation. Later my wife received a call from another unrelated local business. Tisdale had called and threatened to report him to TSSA for unflagging our furnace, which he hadn't done.
