Thursday, October 27th I had a requisition from my G.P. for blood tests at the Kemptville Lab. When I entered the building I sat in the hallway because the chairs within the Lab were full. I noticed there were a couple people inside unmasked. From where I sat, in the hallway, I could read the sandwich board which stated, " masks are to worn". However, due to the position of the sign,which came to knee height some people within the Lab were unmasked. I truly believe it was due to the mask instructions being printed on a knee high sandwich board that made the indivuals believe a mask was NOT warranted. Also there weren't any masks on the counter between the Lab Tech, and the person holding their requition. I believe the sign should be posted at eye level and a bottle of sanitizer an a box of masks be placed on the counter. Your website clearly states that individuals " have to wear a mask when entering the Lab site building". Might I suggest that the sandwich board be taken away and a statement placed on the door at eye level br posted. Your web information states masks are required but an individual stated mask wearing was optional. The position of the sandwich board reflects the lack of masking protocols being followed.
