Not happy about a piece of mail being returned to me when the CORRECT address was on it. It also contained an outdated PO box #, BUT the correct Stayner STREET RESIDENCE address was also on it (just in case the Canada Post Authorities had also changed all their addresses to residence ones. -which they have done). I suggested the Stayner addressee take the envelope in to her Post Officce and ask WHY it was rejected. I doubt that she will do that, so I am complaining on hers, and my behalf. I drove from Creemore to Stayner to post the card so it would not have to travel all the way to Mississauga, or wherever, before returning to the town 7 miles away from Creemore. Then today, I delivered the returned piece of mail in person - so much for the postal service. It is no wonder the public is declining to use the Post Office if they have alternatives. Sloppy service, loss of integrity that was a staple of bygone years. Today, noting other cases of returned mail with correct addresses, to myself and others, the service seems very cold and uncaring. There is no pride in delivery of a "surprise piece of mail". They tell you to phone and get the address - then what is the point of sending anything? Besides, many people now use unlisted cell phones instead of landlines, so how are we to keep in touch? Apparently not by mail when the Post Office has changed most everyone's addresses.
