575? I am paying over 590! No automatic external defibrillators. Noisy broken down old elevator. No night time security guard and is not a high security building. A faulty fire alarm system which makes many false alarms due to everpresent lingering smoke and does so especially during the hot humid summer days. RUN! Before they lock you into a year long lease!

Got locked into a lease and now we see why so cheap. Should have listened to kids and checked this online stuff. Locked in at more than 575 and not that happy. I will keep it short. The place STINKS of smoke like some disgusting dreadful bar from the sixties. All sorts of smoke including cigar cigarettes and street drugs. Also stinks from cooking but that is food so that is different. The doors are not properly sealed. Even the caretaker smokes on the property. Clearly Brydges Property Management and its employees are not leading by example. The worst thing happened when we did our laundry. We had to go all the way down to the basement to do it and THAT WAS BAAAAAAD! The basement hallway is entirely unacceptable in the present smoky state. Our clothes stank of smoke AFTER we brought it back up. And the caretaker is no help. On top of it all, we are not permitted to use the washroom in the basement. It is locked all the time. I need to use my adult diapers just so I can stay near the laundry room. If this is not changed, we will look for another seniors residence.

Bed bugs are tenacious little critters and have been at 224 Colony for over ten years. If they are transferred to this complex, the cost can be in the 5 figures. BE EXPLICIT OR YOU WILL PAY BIG TIME EASILY 10,000 EVERY COUPLE OF YEARS. Through their mismanagement , the non profit at 224 Colony has lost thousands upon thousands of dollars ...and been driven to the verge of SLUM STATUS.

When I look for a new apartment, I will often drop by early in order to get a feel for the place. I thought the price was fantastic, a mere 625 for a prime downtown location. I walked up the sidewalk onto the property and I saw drunks and psychiatric patients smoking away on the benches. I went up further and even more questionable types were gathered around the doorway some staring into space some talking to themselves and some reeking of various types of smoke. On entering the doorway, I was stunned to see people's names listed beside each number on the intercom system. Where I come from, one places "OCCUPIED" by the numbers for security and does not take such chances especially in a dangerous neighborhood such as this. As I searched for the appropriate on site caretaker button, some durnken tenant shouted at me through the intercom system...various expletives were used. That was it ...I left...the rent is so low for a reason,...this is a dumping ground for the leftovers of society. Not worth it even for 500.
