Avis sur Dollarama, Peterborough

My wife bought a kid's toy butterfly net for $1.50. When she got it home she found that the stitching was loose so I brought it back for an exchange. However, after looking at the other nets in the store it was clear that each and every net was so poorly stitched that they'd all unravel and tear once a child started playing with it, so I asked for an refund. They refused to refund, with the manager declaring that it wasn't defective. I tried to explain to her, when she wasn't cutting in, that a product that is so shoddily made that it's basically made to fall apart once you use it, IS DEFECTIVE. Maybe Dollarama has a different definition of "defective" since it's most widely understood to mean "imperfect" or "faulty" or "shoddy" and the manager denied that it was defective, calling it a "quality product for a dollar." When this attempt to shed light on the darkness inside her head failed, I relented and tried to compromise, offering simply store credit. Seemed like a good solution to me; they'd keep my money AND keep a customer happy, but no, apparently, the customer's good will & loyalty isn't even worth $1.50.
