I emailed CTB Plumbing on November 3, 2020 asking for an estimate to hook up water and drains to a sink, tub and toilet that were already in place. CTB Plumbing later called and set an appointment for November 13, 2020 Two men show up on that date and start bringing stuff into my house. I assume they are going to do the estimate that I ASKED FOR and then do the work if I agree, so I explained that this is a second bathroom and if it’s going to cost more than $500 to hook up the three pieces then I do not want it done. One man states “oh don’t worry, this won’t cost that much” and they complete the work. Then I received a bill for $1124.64. When I spoke through email I explained that I was upset because I clearly stated NOT to go over $500. The man in the emails told me that this conversation about $500 did not happen because he had never been to my house and the men that came to my house didn’t have the right to give an estimate. However, I clearly asked for a estimate AND told them NOT to do the work if it would be more than $500. It gets worse. I told him I would make SMALL payments on payday ($25 bi-monthly) With a second round of covid related cutbacks at work coming, I decided to move my family back to USA. Upon arrival my Canadian phone did not work and we were living in motels until we found a home For that month, finding a home and getting stettled was my only priority and I did not contact CTB Plumbing. And therefore missed two $25 payments. When I was able to get a new phone and access my email, there were 2 emails from CTB Plumbing EMAIL #1 states that he went to my old employer and he spoke with all of my ex-coworkers and laughed about me with them about a sewer job. He told me that I had them all fooled and not to worry as he set them all straight. EMAIL #2 he explained how he was contacting 63 of MY MOTHERS friends via Facebook about me. And that he was posting pictures of me AND my husband all over Moncton asking people to tell me to pay my bill. He has ruined my reputation as well as my husband and mothers over $50 in missed payments on a bill that is completely unjust! He is crooked!! Do yourself a favor and hire ANYONE ELSE IN THE AREA!!
