The Aboriginal Human Resource Council, formed in 1998, is a national public-private, not-for-profit organization. Our mandate is to advance the full participation of Aboriginal people in Canada’s labour market on a national level. We create and sell tools and services that help Canadian employers bring Aboriginal people – a more diverse supply of well-trained, highly motivated workers – into the Canadian workforce. Our products and programs also help members of the Aboriginal community obtain essential skills and plan their careers through their own life experiences and cultural perspectives.

The Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre opened its doors in 1984, in an attempt to deliver an emergency supply of food to families who needed help making ends meet. Poverty and hunger should not exist, but it does. It is naïve to believe that in this modern day people are not forced to subside on very little and to merely survive from month to month on low incomes and very little food. The goal of the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre is to be able to close our doors and to know that all people in Saskatoon have enough food to eat. This, however, is not a reality at this time. The Saskatoon Food Bank’s hamper pickup program has been increasing in past years with now more than 12, 000 users each month, half of which are children.
