Children at Risk was incorporated as a charitable organization in 1979. It provides services in the Greater Ottawa area to families with children diagnosed within the Autism Spectrum Disorders. These children are “at risk” of not developing to their full potential if they do not receive early intensive intervention implemented skillfully and diligently. By developing a child’s skills to overcome behavioural, communication and social problems at the onset, they stand to achieve their full potential. This will enhance family life and community participation. Our Goals Children at Risk seeks to increase public awareness of Autism and the impact this disability has on the child and on his or her family and help them cope with the raising an autistic child. Children at Risk advocates on behalf of Autistic children and their families at the local, provincial and national levels. Children at Risk fosters linkages with other local agencies or organizations in the community. Organization There is a board of directors elected by the membership at each Annual General Meeting. The current Board of Directors is still looking for more volunteers. Events & Fundraisers.

The RA is recognized as Canadaí finest fitness and lifestyle centre. There are, in fact, over fifty activities available to members. In addition to the recreation segment of the operation the RA owns and operates a food and beverage division which operates a full service restaurant, a dining room and a range of conference rooms for catering to meetings, weddings and banquets. The RA also operates nine worksite fitness and wellness facilities throughout the Capital Region under the banner LifeFIT Canada. The latest addition to the RAís sport and recreation family is the Rideau Tennis Club. The Rideau offers nineteen tennis courts, eleven of which are clay courts. In the winter eight of the courts are active under indoor air domes. In the summer time the member can relax after a game with a leisurely swim in the outdoor pool and enjoy food and beverages at the clubhouse. The RA Centre has been in business for over 60 years and maintains a significantly large membership of approximately 25, 000. Yes, that is 25, 000 members.

Radio Amateurs of Canada is a not-for-profit membership association with headquarters in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is a national organization, representing the interests of amateur radio all across Canada. Speaking on behalf of Canadian radio amateurs, RAC provides liaison with government agencies and carries the amateur voice about regulatory and spectrum issues to the discussion table with government and industry leaders, nationally and internationally. The Sandy Hill Housing Co-operative is located in historic Sandy Hill, one of Ottawa’s oldest and most established residential neighbourhoods. The Co-op is located near the corner of King Edward Ave. and Somerset St. Minutes from the Parliament, the market and the downtown core. Established in the early 1980’s the co-op has been providing affordable housing for over twenty years.
