Scotia Personnel Ltd was incredible with helping me through my process of becoming an Au Pair in America. I was an Au Pair from 2020-2022, and Scotia Personnel helped me through the visa process, the application process, the interview process, etc. The constant support they showed me, and encouragement I received set me up for confidence and eagerness towards my adventure in America. Shoutout to Richelle and Marilyn, as she worked closely with me and never made me feel overwhelmed or anxious, she made the process so smooth and I can't thank her enough! My experience abroad was life changing! Scotia Personnel is definitely there to help you achieve your dreams!!

My new latest adventure and my new adventure that is coming up.   To whoever is planning to go all I can say is just go you will fall in love with your Adventure!   I am Hailey from Canada and I want to tell you about my new experiences working with Scotia personnel in Canada and my upcoming experience in the USA. I have gone to so many places (Netherlands, Italy, China) and the next one is California! Right now I am working in Canada through Scotia Personnel, looking after a baby in Toronto and we have moved to Halifax for a few months. I have loved my time working with this family. Now for my next adventure in October I'm going to Silverdale California in the States with Scotia Personnel and I'm extremely excited to go there and meet the American family. I can’t wait to go camping, hitting the beach and I want to go to Disneyland! As a young person it would be silly not to go and explore another wonderful country with truly kind people!!   When I started Scotia Personnel first I went as an au pair to the Netherlands, then I worked with a family in Italy. I made great connections and made so many friends. It was a wonderful experience there so I thought it'd be great to continue working with Scotia. I then joined the China program and it was so much fun, I made so many friends like I met people who were from Netherlands, Italy Germany United States, I found some wonderful people when we all met with in the same program. I was there for about 10 months and honestly I could never find enough new things there’s always something to check out. Then it was back to work in Canada and next the USA!     I truly loved my whole time there all the places and the people. All of it has truly touched my heart!

The Scotia Personnel team are so fantastic! From the beginning to the very end they were there to answer any questions I had with a smile on. I first was contacted by Richelle (who's amazing) and she has really helped me with everything. Marilyn is also really helpful and knowledgable. The team is professional, punctual, and really friendly making them the perfect company to pair with for this experience. My au pair trip was the best decision I've ever made and it wouldn't have been possible without them. I would really urge anyone who wants to be an au pair to go through an agency for at least the first time. Because I had such an amazing experience, I would like to work for an agency myself one of these days and help others to accomplish their goals. I’ve only been with Scotia Personnel a short while but I have to say, from both a parents perspective and a nanny’s perspective, this is a company you want to work with. Regardless, whether it’s a nanny position, daycare teachers position or other, the staff at Scotia Personnel is both friendly and knowledgeable. It was divine intervention at a turning point in my career, that the first family I interviewed for, hired me. We are so compatible, I feel like a family member and Scotia Personnel is responsible for that.

Hi I am Hailey, I am 23 from Canada and I want to tell you about my experiences in 2018 and 2019 working with Scotia Personnel. I started last year when I went to the Netherlands first and then I went to Italy. I was an au pair and I made great connections with people, I made so many friends, it was a wonderful experience there so I thought it'd be great to continue working with them. So I then joined the China program and I was in China for about almost 10 months. I started January and I just got home October 6th and the whole time it was amazing and new. I went through all the recommendations for picking up proper host family and I found the best one for me. I could I truly love them and I continue to stay connected with them, and I plan on going to Australia with them too because we created such an excellent relationship in China. And if your idea is to build relationships and bonds that will last a long time and then you should choose Scotia Personnel because not only do you get to work with great people but you get great friends along the way…. you meet them, you talk to them, you share stories. I am still messaging with them in China, because it's still nice talking, sending them photos, catching up the exact same way I would with my friends back in Canada. So I definitely give them as many stars as possible because they are great and they truly care about their job, to make sure our experience is wonderful and wholesome so I hope you join their team and continue travelling cuz it be lovely to meet you along the way. You always meet new Au Pairs and I made friends from England, America, Germany as well as in China… there so many people in the program that are from different countries but we're been brought together the same reason, to make friends to learn more see the world. This past year in the race of trying to find a summer job I stumbled upon Scotia Personnel on my university's job listing site. The job listed was an international Au-pair/ English Tutor and I knew that I wanted to go to Italy, but I didn’t know how I would make it happen. I applied anyway and I received a call. From there, everything was explained to me clearly and professionally. Scotia Personnel helped me realize that it was beyond possible for me to go! So, with all the program information in mind, I decided that I would go. When it was time for me to pick a family, they made sure that the families I chose from were safe and fit well for me. Through them, I found a wonderful family that I stayed with for 3 months in a small medieval town called Sarnano (near Ancona). It was amazing! We went to Rome, Tivoli, Florence, and Turin. By myself, I traveled to Milan, Bologna and even Ibiza in Spain! I learned so much Italian while I was in Italy, I went with a basic understanding of Italian and expanded my knowledge far beyond what I ever thought I would learn! Now I can read books and watch shows in Italian with little difficultly which feels amazing as I’ve been monolingual for most of my life. While I was away, Scotia Personnel checked up on me every so often to see if I was doing well and that I was happy. I’m so glad that I au-paired through them because they provided me another level of support that’s necessary when traveling abroad. Thank you so much Scotia Personnel!

This past summer I had the amazing opportunity to work with Scotia Personnel Ltd. I had a the esteemed opportunity to work with a representative that took ample time to coach and mentor me through the entire transition process. This summer I went to Calabasas to work at Salvation Army camp to work as a Program Team member.Through the entire experience I learnt that turning values into goals is of utmost importance to staying true to who you are and to being self-accomplished as a leader.As a leader in the Early Childhood Field, I strive to create moments that allow people to feel that they are better off after they have interacted with me. As a leader in the Early Childhood field it is very important that I recognize the leadership of others. As an Early Childhood leader it is my responsibility to empower children to reach their highest potential by channeling their hidden talents. Part of my philosophy of Early Childhood Education recognizes that children are capable beings and they are more than competent to make conscious decision about their wellbeing. During this opportunity, I was able to see parts of my philosophy in practice, interacting with school-age children allowed me to see that children are more capable than we believe. The ability to be impactful and empower young children to trust their competences is one of the leadership competences that I acquired through the two-month internship. My Camp staff were definitely trailblazers as it relates to inter-professional practices. One very important part of their strategic direction is-to develop partnership and strong relationships with various community partners, with an effort to maximize services for students and families. My agency partners with a variety of community based social service groups such as; local foster care agencies, through this agency they are able to provide Families with services such as-family yoga, meditation, knitting circles, peer counselling and also mental health first aid for parents with children who have varied mental health illnesses. My agency follows under the mission of The Salvation Army and therefore partners with these agencies to provide parents and children with spiritual growth. My agency also partners with the city of Calabasas, California by allowing their staff members to sit on various advisory committees such as the Youth Advisory Council, Child Care Advisory Group and The Salvation Army Divisional District. I have had the privilege to become a member of the Program Team at the Salvation Army Mount Crags/Gilmore camp, this group provides information, advice and recommendations to Divisional Leaders through the Community and Protective Service Committee on issues affecting child care of children from 5 years up to 16 years. Some of these issues include but are not limited to, special needs funding, resource centers funding, wage subsidy, childcare fee subsidy and health and safety issues related to playgrounds.I left California with lifelong friendships, I feel like my mentorship definitely continued, I invited a few to home in Canada and they were able to spend a few days at my house. I left so honored to be the leader for a group of driven and highly talented group of individuals. I was happy that I got over my imposter syndrome and was able to open up to me staff and also have that reciprocated. I am forever in-debt to Scotia Personnel for afforded me this rewarding and life-changing opportunity! Thank You Scotia!!!!!! This summer I traveled abroad with Scotia Personnel. I went to Spain for one month and to Italy for one month. I had an excellent experience from start to finish. The associates helped me through every step of the application process. I was paired with wonderful and very accommodating families who went out of their way to make me feel like I was a member of the family! Being completely immersed in the culture was such an incredible experience giving me memories to last a lifetime!

I went to England to work at a kids summer camp as a camp coach, with the help from Scotia personal. The camp had international and local kids, some learnt English and did activities and some did activities all day. We also had excursions every Wednesday and some Saturdays where I was paid to go look at castles and tour London with the kids; I even got paid to go to a theme park! I made a ton of friends - both Canadian and English- and experienced cultures from around the world through the kids I took care of. On my days off I travelled the uk with newly made friends, exploring places like the white cliffs of Dover, London, Canterbury, and beaches where I swam in the sea. I definitely plan on going back next summer!

I have worked with Scotia Personnel twice and have had a phenomenal experience both times. In 2016, I went to Palma Mallorca Spain as an Au Pair. They set me up with a wonderful family. My days would consist of waking up the 3 boys in the family, making them breakfast, taking them to the beach and then coming back to the house for lunch. During my weekends off, I would stay with the family because they would show me around the island. I still keep in contact with the family. In 2018, I went to England to work at a camp. The process of being able to work at the camp as a Canadian citizen would seem difficult but Scotia Personnel knew what needed to be done, how to do it , and when. They guided me throughout the entire process. I had the time of my life at the camp. On a day to day basis, my roommates and I would wake up and get breakfast. Each week we were given a group of kids. We would take them to activities throughout the day, eat lunch with them, and supervise them during evening activities. On off weekends I would go to London or just hangout with friends. At the begging of the camp I requested a week off in August. During that week I visited the family that I Au Paired for in Spain. I still keep in contact with the girls that I met at the camp. We always talk about how it was the best summer ever.

I have working with this agency for two years now, I have enjoyed my trip, and all the experiences I was able to have. The different places I was able to see and explore were amazing. Also, all the different the people I got to meet, i got to make life long friends which was really amazing.

Scotia Personnel allowed me to travel the world and live in places I never thought I would get to experience. I've had the opportunity to live in France and China and I've made friends from around the world as well as have experiences that I'll never forget.

Even on days I was not nannying, they always found me employment in daycares, and they always have great opportunities. It has been a wonderful experience and I definitely will keep working with them for employment and future opportunities.

I came across Scotia Personnel’s information on my university’s (Memorial University of Newfoundland) and couldn’t decide between Au Pairing or the Summer Camps. Both Richelle and Marilyn helped me decide what would be best for me and I decided on Au Pairing in Italy. A friend from University was interested in the program as well and after we spoke to Richelle and Marilyn they worked extra hard to place us with the same family! They made what could have been a terrifying, complicated experience into something easy and amazing. They allowed me to have the summer of a lifetime travelling around Italy (and visiting a few other countries). I’ll be back in Europe for school in the fall and I’m making a point to go back to Milan to see the family I was placed with – Scotia Personnel gave me the opportunity to meet new people who became my family and travel – two things I love most in the world. The whole team at Scotia Personnel were available if anything at all was needed, from the original contact to when I got back to Newfoundland. If I didn’t have to do courses this summer I’d be Au Pairing with them again – maybe in America this time to experience something new. I already have plans to do their China program in a year’s time when I finish University. I cannot thank them enough for everything they did for me – I’d recommend the company and their programs to anyone.

Scotia Personnel is a great company. They have helped my dreams of going to the UK possible. I also was able to teach English in Italy which opened me up to a whole new culture. Scotia Personnel are very friendly and helpful, they make sure that you are safe and taken care of. Working as an English tutor in Italy was an experience I won't ever forget. I would like to thank Scotia Personnel for the opportunity. Having the opportunity to live in Italy for three months was amazing. My host family was great, they were very accommodating, generous and welcoming, and the kids I looked after and tutored became like younger siblings to me, and made me feel like part of the family. They even invited me to stay with them again next year. When not working, I had time off on the weekends, where I would travel to amazing places around northern Italy, or hang out with my host family, where we would go on their boat around Lake Como, where we would swim, wakeboard, and occasionally watch fireworks. I also got to eat so many delicious foods as well as have ice cream or gelato almost every day, something I don't get to do in Canada. My experience working in Italy gave me the confidence to solo travel and I was able to meet new and interesting people, as well as getting to experience a different culture, cuisine, and environment that I hadn't before. I would definitely recommend this wonderful opportunity and experience. Overall my time in Italy, and working as a tutor was great, and I would love to get the opportunity to go back again.

Scotia personnel is such a great company that gave me a great opportunity. I have always enjoyed traveling, expanding my comfort zone, learning new cultures, tasting new foods and making new friends. Thanks to Scotia Personnel I got to experience all of this ! Summer 2017 was one of the best time of my life, I got to work as an English tutor in Turin, Italy where I taught English and planned after-school activities for kids during the week. On the weekends I would travel around, I got to see different cities of Italy like Milan and Noli. I also got to see Champs Elysees and the Eifel tower in Paris, and the beautiful city of Lyon in France. I visited Zurich and Sion in Switzerland and also Brussels in Belgium. Eleanor Roosevelt could not have said it better “The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.” Thank you Scotia Personnel for everything, I made memories that I will always cherish.

7 years ago I made a decision at the age of 18 and just out of high school, to leave my small Island home in Canada to be an Au Pair in America. I couldn't have done it without the Scotia Personnel team who have helped me all the way through the process! Because of Au Pair in America, and the Scotia Personnel team, I would not have had the experience and relationship with my host family like I do today! This has been a life changing experience and I am forever thankful to have been a part of this amazing journey!

Why being an Au Pair was the best experience of my life. Well, it’s not complicated if you like to travel, discover and have fun, that’s the best way to do it! I met extraordinary people from all around the world. It give me the chance to step back and see who I really wanted to be, learning about enjoying every moment of my life and seeing only the positive in everything. Leaving your comfort zone, families and friends to work in another country can be daunting but it’s worth it. The program organised all the necessary documents and arrangements and made it so easy for me. I spent one year in California with an amazing family caring for three little girls, twins of two years old and the oldest was four. My Host’s made me feel welcome and like a part of their family from the beginning. Together we traveled to Hawaii, San Francisco, Disneyland and France. Looking after the children both at home and on these vacations was challenging and rewarding. Kids can teach you so many things without knowing it, they are always living in the present. They teach you how to relax by doing finger painting or blowing bubbles in the backyard. They have so much imagination and can be so refreshing, they bring back the best memories of our childhood. After completing my year I felt extremely proud of my accomplishments. It was an excellent experience for personal growth. I am now studying Fashion at the University of Quebec in Montreal and attribute some of my success to the knowledge and experience i gained as an Au Pair. This experience changed my life and I would recommend it to anyone.

I worked with the company as an Au Pair in 2013-2014, the staff here are amazing they are there to help you with where you would like to go either if its working in Canada, United States, Europe or Australia. I live in The Netherlands for the year and i had the best time of my life. They match you with a family through the survey you do. I made many friends from around the world and still talk with the host family to this day ( i went back in September and visit my host family and had supper with them.) I still talk with the children as well. i would recommend the company and would Au Pair again in a heart beat. Life time of unforgettable memories you will cherish forever!! Back in 2013-2014 I was an Au Pair in England though the agency. They helped me every step of the way and made getting a job I loved very easy. Reflecting on this past year, I am grateful to Scotia Personal because they gave me the nudge and the confidence to finally fulfill my dream of living in a new country. Through the working abroad program I became a receptionist working and travelling on my off days. My coworkers became more like family and beyond that I have made life long friends through my travels. In just over a year I have already visited Italy France Germany Iceland. Each place I've visited has made me fall more in love with traveling. scotia personnel has opened opportunities for me and let me experience all that I have in such a short time.

I had the pleasure of working with Scotia personnel through my experience as an au pair one year in the states and following with six months in China. I've always dreamed about traveling and experience another culture but never knew how or where to start. I heard from college school mates and family and friends about this angency so naturally this was the way to go. I was an Au Pair in New York and I will never forget every memory I made while I was away!!! I wanted to take a minute to write about my experience au pairing in Spain with the help of Scotia Personnel. I left for Madrid at the end of August in 2010, after having decided on Spain and au pairing after speaking with the staff at Scotia Personnel. I was really ecstatic to have found an economically savvy way to live extensively abroad. The first months in Spain were incredibly rewarding and challenging at time, as is the case with anything new. I took language classes, explored the city and made many friends (many au pairs, as nearly all au pairs are eager to meet up and as such, getting to know people is not a problem). In November, I decided to switch to another au pair family as I was interested in au pairing with a different age range. I continue to stay in contact with my second family. The mother regularly emails me photos of the girls and we exchange Christmas gifts by mail, she also offered to pay for my flight back to Spain should I ever want to au pair for the family again! Around the same time, I met Alberto, who just so happens to be my husband as of last November! Had I not au paired in Spain, my life today would be totally different, having never met many of my very close friends, new families or husband. Nor would I be able to speak the high level of Spanish I do. As a result of my time in Spain, I have also been able to expand my resume as a child care professional, tutor and ESL teacher. Obviously, I recommend au pairing with Scotia Personnel to anyone who is looking to travel

Scotia Personnel helped get me a hotel placement right after my college graduation. I spent a year living right outside of London, and got to live with people from all over Europe. I was able to do some travelling during my year away and had a fantastic time because of this program!

I did a kid's summer camp as a camp leader in the UK through Scotia Personnel and had a summer of a lifetime! This was my first summer away from home but I met young people from all over the world including people from Australia, New Zealand and Europe. The team from Scotia Personnel were great and just wanted to thank them again!

It was easy to sign up, a little paperwork, and then they helped me find a really fantastic family with two munchkins that i absolutely love!!! I not only got to fulfill one of my biggest dreams of going to Italy I was able to find a job at a summer camp so I could spend my time working with children, another passion of mine.
