We aspire to establish an institution that provides leadership, charisma, and power to promote the true role of the Canadian Muslim. With this vision, we have established Al-Madinah Center (March 2013) to serve as a corner stone in promoting all activities that reflect the Islamic identity, values, and intellectual wealth of the Islamic society. Al-Madinah Center is our community center at the heart of downtown Montreal. It hosts a large common space, a library, a conference room, and a Quranic school. It offers also a large multi-purpose hall with facilities for social activities for our children, youth, families and elders. Between the years of 1970 to 1980, followers of Ahlill Bait (P.B.U.T) started to arrive to Montreal Canada, especially from Iraq in small numbers. Activities were made at home. In between the years of 1980 to 1985 the number increased in a noticeable way among new immigrants, students as well as refugees. Therefore, we had to rent an apartment in the year of 1983 in the area of Walkley. There were gathering every Thursday evening for dua'a Kumail, in the months of Ramadan and Muharam and Ulamaa (scholars) were invited. In the year of 1985, an apartment was rented in the area of Plamondon. Contacts were made with new arriving families. Ihtifalat (religious celebrations) were made at schools and universities.

The center is registered as a Not-for-profit organization in the province of Quebec. It observes all Canadian and Quebec regulations of good management, transparency, accountability, and continuous reporting. In addition, AIC implements the Islamic model of leadership and sustainable management. The mission of AIC is: “To establish and operate an Islamic center in the heart of Montreal to serve the orders of Allah, help the Muslim community to practice the principals of Islam, and ultimately please Allah (GOD) (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) by adhering to the teachings of the Qur’an and the methodology of the Sunnah of prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him).
