Planet Earth Recycling Ltd. opened in December of 2009 with locations in West Kelowna and Penticton. The founder of Planet Earth Recycling Ltd. has over 20 years experience in the Recycling and Waste Management industry not only in the Okanagan, but also in the Lower Mainland and Calgary markets. Prior to Planet Earth Recycling Ltd. opening in West Kelowna, the only place to take metals was the Regional Landfill, which charges for drop off of metal goods. Planet Earth Recycling pays for certain commodities such as copper, brass, stainless steel, aluminum, automotive batteries and electrical wire. For everything else Planet Earth Recycling offer free drop off at either location. Planet Earth Recycling Ltd. also offers a higher level of e-waste recycling then was previously available in the Central Okanagan. The two existing programs are not all that convenient to the public, or to commercial generators. Not only that, but the existing programs only take limited electronic waste, called Phase I electronics. Planet Earth Recycling Ltd. accept both Phase I and Phase II e-waste such as fax machines, scanners, stereos, cell phones, vcrs, dvds, etc. Planet Earth Recycling Ltd.'s team of uniformed drivers offer pick-up services to offices requiring a reliable recycling program.
