Hamilton Food Share‘s purpose is to increase our community's capacity to reduce hunger. We do this by supplying much needed food supplies and short-term storage to food banks and hot meal programs. Additionally, our organization establishes community partnerships, donor relations and fundraising activities that support our food recovery operation. Our support is vital as the resources allocated by Hamilton Food Share defray costs for the emergency food programs and redirect these savings to other program areas. The second purpose of our organization is to work collaboratively across every sector of the community to bring about awareness of hunger, its root causes and the impact it creates for people in need. Mission To diminish hunger in our community by collecting and sharing food and other resources through effective partnerships that strengthen our response to hunger. Vision We envision informed communities actively engaged in the elimination of hunger ensuring all community members have access to adequate, safe and appropriate food choices. Values Statement We believe every individual has the right to daily sustenance and personal dignity. #We value long term vision, sustainability, and approach our mission committed to building awareness of hunger and its root causes. We recognize and acknowledge the individual and collective contributions made to and through our organization. We value an ethical and prudent approach and we demonstrate our integrity through fairness, openness and honesty in our dealings with others. We pursue our mission in a proactive manner and we value community collaboration and partnerships.

In 1989, Christine Whitlock published her first directory of business women for the Hamilton-Wentworth and Halton regions. After the book came out, the women wanted to meet each other so she stared first luncheon meetings then later dinners and now every second month mini tradeshows where men can also attend. For over 30 years, Christine Whitlock has been producing communication packages for business and non-profits through her company CJ CREATIVE PRODUCTIONS INC. As a former police reporter and media journalist, she has her Magazine Journalism Certificate from Ryerson University. Christine also taught ‘HOW TO START A SMALL BUSINESS’ at Mohawk College for over 20 years where she had a number of the WWE members come out as her guests to promote their businesses.
