In our defense against this slander. Jennifer's a new addition to our team. I found her to be inquisitive, thoughtful, thorough and eager. Our company which has been in business for 37 years is highly regarded in the industry as a small company that can accommodate our clients at a moments notice. This requires team effort to accomplish. In this particular event, (Jennifer's first), we were told by the client that there would be 7 different items to demo. It turned out to be two and it required a skillet. We were not informed of this until Jennifer discovered it the day of the demo. This does happen. A skillet was required and since Jennifer did not have one, COULD she purchase one from Walmart with money sent by interact? We would also cover her travel costs to do so since it was sooo last minute. She agreed. Normally we do not give demo work to people who do not have their own transportation. Jennifer assured me she would have no trouble taking the bus. I applauded her efforts. When promotions hires someone they are considered self-employed as we take no deductions. Therefore, by law, they are required to provide their own "tools", in this case cutting board, scissors, knives etc. We cover toothpicks and doilies and disposable items. In Jennifers' case we paid for her starter kit and sent it to her to show our appreciation of her extra effort required for this, her first, demo. I personally have worked for Promotions on a part time basis for the past 6 years. Promotions has an ebb and flow that provides me with extra income on an irregular basis that works for me. The paperweight skillet has been requested to be returned to the company, free of charge through our courier account next week at no inconvenience to Jennifer other then boxing it up and handing it to a driver. Oh, and Jennifer did get paid on time like we always do.
