Flooding, 4 damaged floors, raw waste water all over my subfloor, challenging conversations getting them to honour their WRITTEN GUARANTEE... Not only am I out over $5,000 as a result of dealings with Comfort Zone, but they BLAME ME for it! Talk about adding insult to injury! Comfort Zone: "This is not an installation issue. This is not our responsibility on any way what so ever". What happened: I hired them to install central A/C. The rest is resultant of their work. They gave a written guarantee - if the unit they installed was not big enough to cool the house, they would upgrade it at no cost to me. YEARS of dealing with inadequate A/C, 78 degrees with A/C on full time! They finally did a proper test (years later) and conceded the unit they installed was much too small. OBVIOUSLY! It's 78 frickin degrees on full!!! But did they bring me a new unit? Well, NO! Wait weeks for an appointment to install, and after a day they say, 'It's not compatible'. They schedule another appointment... show up with another unit from the warehouse. It's DEFECTIVE. They come back with another unit from the warehouse. It's DEFECTIVE. Did I complain? NO I DID NOT! I didn't ask for ANYTHING from them - only to get it working right! The FLOODING! They did NOT install a water pump, and the furnace mounted A/C caused flooding that soaked the basement flooring. I replaced the carpet, and they brought in a SMALL pump. NO compensation whatsoever for the ruined flooring and black mold, etc. The small pump didn't keep up, and it flooded again. This time we caught it in time to dry up the floor, and they put in a bigger water pump. But it didn't keep up. They believed it defective and replaced it. As it turns out, it wasn't the pump, it was the INSTALLATION of the drain line! They stapled it causing a severe crimp that restricted water flow by about 95%. AND they did not secure the hose in the hole they drilled into the drain pipe. This resulted in MORE flooding, and severe raw waste water leakage under the subfloor. I only discovered this raw leakage recently as I was installing electrical wiring under the subfloor. But there's MORE! In a bedroom where they brought in the A/C lines from outside, the carpet had also been wet - some sort of flooding. As it seemed random, I replaced the flooring not having found the source of the flooding. It flooded again, and this time I hired a contractor to FIND the source. He removed the bedroom drywall, revealing a rusty colored water trail on the vapor barrier (plastic), which led to the corner at the ceiling. He then removed the insulation and it revealed the source to be the hole where Comfort Zone ran the A/C lines. He called me in to look, and I could LITERALLY see outside - the green leaves on the vines on my fence. He filled the hole with spray foam, which is visible outside, PROVING there was in fact a hole. My theory on this much water getting in is due to water runs on surfaces, and it ran down the A/C line into the house. Easy enough to prove, just pour water at the top of the line and watch if flow to the hole. Clearly we found the source of the flooding. I contacted Comfort Zone and asked them to consider what I've had to deal with. I asked them if they may consider some compensation. I made no threats and no demands whatsoever. I provided them with an OPPORTUNITY to make things right. Their ultimate response: "This is not an installation issue. This is not our responsibility on any way what so ever".

Please read my google review. This air conditioner is 12-years old. The hole in question is 16 inches off the ground and has clear silicone in it. We have had 1-leak from the unit when it was installed 12-years ago. It was the result of a kinked drain. All other leaks were from a customer supplied humidifier that had a bad saddle valve. One other time there was a leak from the air conditioner from a plugged filter which was a maintenance issue. We have stood behind our product and not charged for calls that were not related to our system. We had to stand our ground on this. I offered him a repair to his drain line and $250 dollars. The mark on the wall was from a sweating line set not a leak from a hole 16 inches off the ground with silicone in it! Please take the time to look at google. Mr. Dillon is trying to be a bully because he did not get his way. Mike

When facts fail, you resort to name calling. The A/C we have is the 5th one that was brought here by Comfort Zone. The first which was too small made us endure average 78 degrees inside for years. It took a LOT of requests and many visits before Comfort Zone agreed to honour their guarantee to replace the unit if it was not big enough to cool our house. YEARS! Since our first summer here was 2010, clearly the A/C isn't 12 years old unless it was an old unit they provided us with. To be honest, that would not surprise me, as they brought 1 incompatible unit and 2 defective units before bringing the one we presently have. The photos in the review on Google prove beyond any doubt the cause of the flooding next to the furnace room. The pump was not properly installed - the hose was crimped by the staple, and it was not properly installed into the drain pipe. What astonishes me is that even though we've endured extremely hot summers without proper air conditioning, they blame ME. And even though the photos prove beyond any doubt the drain was not installed properly and caused significant raw waste water to sit under our subfloor pooling for years, they take no responsibility. And even though I've had to replace 4 floors from flooding of the A/C (BEFORE they installed the humidifier, and AFTER the humidifier was completely turned off) - proving beyond ANY doubt the A/C and lack of draining is the problem, they blame me. I hired a contractor to find the source of the water entering the bedroom - required completely removing a wall and tracing the water trail - DIRECTLY to the opening Comfort Zone made in the wall. The spray foam insulation sprayed from inside the house is clearly visible OUTSIDE the house, proving beyond any doubt there were in fact holes. I personally looked out the hole and saw the leaves on the vines hanging. But they in fact tell me I am WRONG that I did not see what I say I saw. In other words, they are calling me a liar. No, I am not a bully. I am a VICTIM of bullying. 4 ruined floors, raw waste water under my subfloor pooling for years, and all I asked for was for them to take a look for themselves and see if they think it's fair that I have to pay over $5,000 for repairs. They are a big corporation. I am just an individual and they have the opportunity to make things right, or to bully me. You can see by their firm stance how they treat a loyal customer.
