I'm an ordinary person with diverse real-world experience working with people from all walks of life-carpenters, doctors, teachers, first responders, parents, and more. My deep care for others has guided me through supporting individuals in life's toughest moments. Having engaged in my own therapeutic journey since my mid-twenties, I understand what it's like to be on the other side. I started as a Red Seal carpenter in 1985, later earning a master's in Pastoral Psychology and Counselling. After 20 years in pastoral ministry, I became a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor in 2016. I specialize in psychodynamic psychotherapy and EMDR for trauma, integrating faith and spirituality into mental well-being. I adhere to ethical standards and ongoing professional development through ACCT and ACTA. My approach helps individuals gain insight, heal, and create meaningful change.

The Appeals Commission for Alberta Workers’ Compensation is quasi-judicial tribunal operating under the authority of the Workers’ Compensation Act as the final level of appeal from decisions made by a review body appointed by the system administrator, the Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB). Our mission is to provide a timely, fair, and independent appeals process consistent with legislation, policy, and the principles of natural justice. As a Government of Alberta entity independent of the WCB, the Commission reports to the Minister of Jobs, Skills, Training and Labour. This reporting relationship is guided by the Appeals Commission’s Mandate and Roles Document, which is housed with the Agency Governance Secretariat. Adjudicators, including the Chief Appeals Commissioner, are merit-based appointments recruited through public competition. Commissioners are appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council as representative of either the interests of employers or the interests of workers. To ensure impartial and unbiased adjudication, legislation prohibits the appointment of WCB employees or members of the WCB Board of Directors as commissioners. Presently, there are 55 adjudicators – 20 full-time hearing chairs and 35 part-time commissioners. The Chief Appeals Commissioner also acts as the CEO of the Appeals Commission, directing its operations with the support of an executive team comprising two Vice-Chairs, Lead Counsel, and the Director.

Central Psychological Inc. provides central psychological services, in a central location. These services include evidence-based psychological therapy (psychotherapy using evidence-based modalities), diagnosis, crisis intervention, and a variety of psychological assessments. The psychologist practice is located in downtown Edmonton at #806, 10050 112 Street in Compass Place. This location is transit-accessible, and has nearby parking. The office space is disability accessible. The therapy office has a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. Client comfort, therapeutic rapport, and trust-building are essential. Both a strong therapeutic alliance with one’s Psychologist, and a Psychologist’s use of evidence-based therapy techniques, are instrumental in achieving desired treatment outcomes. Central Psychological Inc. recognizes the value of both evidence-based treatment, and the therapeutic alliance to successful outcomes, and is committed to both of these in providing services. Central Psychological provides most central psychological services, including evidence-supported therapies and major psychological assessments, for adults and children with a variety of needs. Services are sensitive to client characteristics and needs. The psychologist is familiar with a range of assessments and treatment techniques, to select those that are suitable to a variety of needs. The selection of therapy techniques (and assessments) are based on clinical judgement, and what research has demonstrated works best for particular diagnoses/conditions, and client characteristics. Treatment may include cognitive-behavioural therapy ( CBT ), skills training, or other therapy techniques, depending on the best available evidence for what works for the condition/disorder, and other client needs. Assessments and treatment plans will be customized according to the needs of each client.
