Welcome to National Diabetes Trust, Canada's largest charitable clothing and small household goods collection service and the social enterprise of Diabetes Canada. With more than 5, 000 donation bins and an active home pick-up service in communities across Canada, we collect unwanted gently used clothing and household items to raise much-needed funds for Diabetes Canada. This helps support programs and research on behalf of the 11 million Canadians living with diabetes and pre-diabetes. But, we're more than just clothing donation collectors. We are an organization of dedicated professionals working with Canadians from coast to coast fighting to End Diabetes through waste diversion. Each year, the program diverts more than 100 million lbs. of clothing and household items from landfill sites across Canada. Founded in 1992, Women in Need Society (WINS) is Calgary's homegrown thrift charity, providing basic needs resources and support to women and their families. From our humble beginning, WINS has grown from one thrift store location to six across Calgary, in addition to our Donation Centre. In 2020 we launched a bulk thrift store, MORE! along with an online thrift box service, TwiceNEW. The revenue from our thrift operations supports our programs, like House to Home, Retail Ready, Warehouse Ready and our four Community Resource Hubs. Calgary Humane Society is more than a shelter. We connect the lives of animals and people. We have been providing an essential community service since 1922. Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters more than 7700 homeless animals each year. We investigate animal cruelty, provide emergency boarding and help reunite lost pets with their owners.
