"Kids@ Churchill Park is a non-profit Calgary child care and family support agency providing quality child care and early learning opportunities to children of Calgary families. We have been both pioneers and leaders in this field for 50 years. Our programs include community-, corporate- and school-based child care centres plus several dozen Calgary family day homes. We care for children from young infants to school age. As a non-profit charitable agency, our mandate is to provide help over profiting. We support family life, healthy child development, and early learning, offering a broad program of care and rich, play-based learning opportunities to help working parents with the challenges of raising healthy children."

Literacy Alberta supports literacy through and across the lifespan. We work with individuals, predominantly adults, in Alberta's communities and workplaces. We affect the literacy rates of children and families through our work, as the literacy skills and practices of parents are leading indicators of the level of literacy of children; literacy begins at home. Around the world it is acknowledged that raising literacy rates raises individual and family quality of life and improves the whole economy of any country. By providing support, resources, tools and professional development for literacy practitioners, learners, tutors and employers across Alberta, we help to break the intergenerational cycles of low literacy, poverty, violence, poor health, interaction with the law etc. Through its work, Literacy Alberta will, in the end, help to ensure that every person living in Alberta gains and maintains the literacy skills they need to reach their full potential. To learn more about Literacy Alberta, read our Backgrounder . Our mission Building literacy and essential skills in Alberta through inspiration, innovation and collaboration. Our vision All people living in Alberta are able to develop and maintain the literacy and essential skills they need to fully participate in their communities. These skills help them be actively involved in the social, economic, political and cultural life in Alberta. Our guiding principles Albertans have the right to develop literacy and basic skills. Everyone has an equal chance to gain, develop, keep and add to literacy and basic skills. Life-long learning is accessible to all who want it. We have a society that values educated, healthy, and productive citizens, workplaces and communities.
