Dan was born and raised on the West Island of Montreal. Early in life he realized that physical fitness was an integral part of living a happy, healthy lifestyle. He then moved down the “401” to St. Catharines, Ontario where he balanced numerous sporting activities with playing music, school and work. Currently Dan has found his home in Calgary and is enjoying his 20th year in Alberta. Through sports Dan gained first-hand experience of physical injuries and how these injuries can affect your lifestyle. After completing a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Ottawa, Dan spent two years studying Athletic Therapy with top foot specialists at Mount Royal University which gave him further understanding of how the body compensates for injury and helped him gain further knowledge of the mechanisms of injury.

The term "Halotherapy" originates from the Greek words halos - salt and therapia - treatment, which put together makes “salt treatment”. It is based on the method of treatment called speleotherapy (speleo) when a patient is staying in a natural (karst) salt cave, or in an underground salt mine. This method is well-known in Europe. On the North American continent, little is known about salt therapy, although the history of its origin and development goes far back into the past. How Salt Therapy Works? Salt Therapy, known also as a Halotherapy, is 100% natural, safe, and drug-free treatment method, based on the concept of inhaling mineral micro particles of salt deep into the lungs to destroy bacteria and fungi in the body, that cause infections. It helps to remove impurities from the body and boost the immune system. Salt Caves History & Science The first mentioning of salt cave treatment goes back to ancient times, to the Neolithic period. Numerous data suggests that at least 2500 years ago speleotherapy was consciously used as a method of treatment based on the beneficial influence of the underground environment factors, including the air, on the human body.
