Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) uses structured and directive techniques to alter dysfunctional thought patterns by weakening the connection between distressing situations and automatic reactions. Patients learns how to identify and manage irrational thoughts; to cope through controlled exposure. CBT combines two very effective forms of psychotherapy: cognitive therapy and behaviour therapy. Cognitive therapy helps you understand how certain patterns of thinking are causing and maintaining your symptoms. Dr. Yuki Konomi is a registered clinical psychologist in the province of Ontario (Registration no. 4700) with the areas of competency in Clinical, Forensic, Rehabilitation, and Counselling Psychology. She is a member of the Ontario Psychological Association and the Canadian Psychological Association. She is fluent in English and Japanese. Dr. Konomi offers psychological assessments for a variety of purposes (vocational, diagnostic, treatment-planning, disability related, and forensic) and treatments for adult (age 16+) individuals and couples. Shortly after graduation in 1980 Dr. Frazer founded his practice serving the Scarborough, Markham and Durham Regions. Dr. Frazer started his practice with a specialization in anxiety disorders and in particular panic disorders with agoraphobia and quickly the practice grew to a complement of several trained professionals. In addition to receiving most referrals from family physicians and psychiatrists in the area, his practice has completed assessments for WSIB and Independent Psychological Evaluations for the Insurance Industry especially those suffering from disability or motor vehicle accidents.
