Niagara Women's Enterprise Centre (NWEC), has a mandate to provide assistance, training and resources to unemployed and/or underemployed women in the Niagara Region who want to obtain employment or create a business. We have established and provided sector specific certificate training programs and various employment supports to over 800 women across Niagara since 1999 in an effort to relieve women living in poverty.

Open Arms Mission is made up of 3 divisions: Mission Centre, Redeemed Goods and Open Arms Ministry Campus. Mission Centre The Mission Centre began as a small food bank on Fifth Street in the late 80s and is now the location of our administrative offices, pastoral care services and our Food and Hygiene Bank as well as other services. We look after the physical needs of our clients. Clients are treated respectfully and safe relationships are established with volunteers and staff. Some clients we see quite regularly and volunteers call them by name.. Redeemed Goods This ministry business was started in 2008 as the second phase of the vision that CEO Jerry VanderKlok had for Open Arms Mission. To fund all of the ministry efforts we needed to generate an income as well as provide low cost clothing and household goods to clients. The store is located at 298 Crowland Ave in Welland and it now has a warehouse on the Ministry Campus property. Redeemed Goods is a thrift shop like no other. We wante.. Open Arms Ministry Campus The newest division is the Ministry Campus at 933 Forks Rd. West in Wainfleet. All divisions use this property. Redeemed Goods and the Mission Centre use it for warehousing. The vision for this location is to journey with people while providing opportunities for those whose lives have been changed through the support of Open Arms Mission and the Salvation of Jesus Christ. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada (BBBSC) is the leading child and youth serving organization providing mentoring programs across the country. Providing support to more than 1000 Canadian communities - our over 128 local agencies offer the service that the organization was founded on: One-to-One Matching. Men and women (age 18 or older) give of their time to become a mentor to a young person who can greatly benefit from having an adult role model to look up to.Times change. Volunteers change. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada has also changed. In response to the different needs and demands of children - youth - and volunteers alike - we have created new programs to fit our changing society.
