Five years ago, encouraged by his loyal customers, owner Matthew Takoski added to his downtown flagship restaurant on Blanshard with a second location at Fort and Foul Bay in Oak Bay. This past fall, he answered the call of West Saanich residents, opening the third Baan Thai restaurant at Broadmead Village Shopping Centre. Baan Thai Diners appreciate the diverse menu, full of the deliciously fresh flavours of authentic Thai cuisine, prepared by expertly trained Thai chefs. "The cooking methods are healthier, it's not laden with oils and there's a good differentiation between flavours, " Takoski says. Thai food can have a multitude of flavours from dish to dish. And lets end one myth – Thai food is not all hot! In fact many Thai dishes are served with little or no spices at all. We serve people of all ages covering the full spectrum of tastes. From young children to seniors – from those who like it hot to those with delicate taste buds.” The publisher of the Victoria Dining Guide, Takoski bought the restaurant when the previous owner fell ill.
