Appointments are in the clinic which is in the garden. They will generally occur monthly until eight months, when the visits become more frequent, with weekly appointments in your final month until delivery. You are welcome to bring your partner or significant others to your visits including children. Midwives provide full care to clients and their babies until 6 weeks after the birth. You can expect to be visited by your midwife several times after your baby is born. Generally you will be visited at your home for the first week. Visits will gradually decrease over the next few weeks. Visits from 2 weeks on will be back in the clinic finishing at 6-7 weeks after the baby is born. Midwives work full time and on call, so that you will have access to a midwife 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This ensures continuity of care so that you have a midwife known well to you during your labour and delivery. On rare occasions you may meet a back-up on call midwife. Jana Wilks - Office Assistant for VMG My name is Jana Wilks, and I am the the Office Assistant for the Victoria Midwifery Group. You will be talking to me lots once you come into care with VMG. I love working with the wonderful women, men and babies in our practice. Our office is full of fun and excitement and is a wonderful environment to work in! My partner Jamie owns a restaurant called Relish and I am also a doula.
