And providing a safe and supportive environment to process difficult emotions or life events. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC - #18450) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). I completed my Master of Arts (MA) in Family Life Education from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. Since 2005 I have had the privilege of doing pastoral counselling for youth and college students and clinical counselling with individuals of multi-ethnic backgrounds and ages. I started working with high risk youth more than seven ears ago and I have been able to connect and support with this population group and their families.

One hundred and eighty-six years have passed since a group of fur trappers and traders first read Morning Prayer in a rough fort on the bank of the Fraser River. Years later, the Diocese of New Westminster – named after the first incorporated city in British Columbia – was established in 1879 as an integral part of the British colonization of the west coast of Canada. The Diocese of New Westminster is situated on the unceded traditional territory of the Coast Salish peoples who have lived on this land of beauty and abundance for thousands of years prior to contact with European settlers. Today, the diocesan boundaries cover the territory of more than forty first nations.

The Sovereign Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Knights Hospitaller is an ecumenical, international, Christian organization directly descended from the close collaboration of crusader knights with the hospitaller activities of the hospice founded by Amalfi merchants for pilgrims in Jerusalem before the turn of the 12th century. The resultant knight/hospitaller organization was recognized as a Sovereign Order by Pascal II in a Papal Bull dated February 15, 1113. The Sovereign Order strongly influenced history in the Holy Land, Rhodes and Malta over the next six tumultuous centuries, and established itself in its hospitaller role as well. Our modern Sovereign Order of St. John descends from the Russian Priories established by Grand Master Tsar Paul I of Russia, who welcomed the Sovereign Order following the conquest of Malta by Napoleon in 1798. The Vancouver Commandery of The Sovereign Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Knight Hospitaller, is a non-profit society dedicated to the support of palliative care in British Columbia. The Sovereign Order is an ecumenical and international community of Christian Knights and Dames.
