The Warehouse Studio The Warehouse Studio is located in Vancouver, Canada It's precise location is in one of the most interesting areas of the city, called Gastown www.gastown.org/, and it's nestled amongst shops, restaurants and nightclubs in the area. Concerts, sporting events, theatres and art galleries are all within a short walk from the studio. Pictured is the southeast corner of Powell street and Columbia avenue in 1886. Owner David Oppenheimer was mayor of Vancouver from 1888-1891. This building served as city hall and jail for part of that time. The Oppenheimers firm discontinued business in 1900. In later years it was the office and warehouse of Pilkington Bros glass manufacturers. It is now the oldest brick building in Vancouver with restorations to both inside and out that have retained the historical integrity of the original structure. The inside is a blend of modern amenities and state of the art recording equipment. The Warehouse Studio started in 1987 in the basement of a house in West Vancouver, and 10 years later, on July 9, 1997 we opened the doors on Powell street. Studio 2 was completed on February 9, 1998 and Studio 1 was up and running on October 18, 1999. Technical and acoustic layout by Ron O Vermeulen. We have 4 studios, located on separate floors, which are comfortable and spacious with lots of natural light, each has a private kitchen and lounge area. We've created an environment that is comfortable, has a great vibe, and is very conducive to making and capturing sounds for artists, producers and engineers.
