The DanceHouse series was established in 2008 to support excellence in artistic production and presentation and to enrich the social fabric in that we live and work. DanceHouse is committed to presenting diverse local, national and international artists and arts organizations engaged in innovative artistic endeavours. In addition, the organization supports these presentations with a range of activities and programs aimed at encouraging and increasing the public’s engagement with the artists and the works presented. In so doing, DanceHouse aims to enrich the public’s appreciation of the cultural community with the goal of strengthening the arts community and the community at large. Though there are many ways to interpret what that phrase means, one of those ways is as a request from our students to all parents and teachers. Our children look to us to reflect the messages of Christ in our own lives, to set an example that they can appreciate and try to emulate. That is an awesome responsibility that will undoubtedly require many sacrifices and an ongoing conscientious commitment to living our faith on a daily basis. Those who achieve success in that worthwhile pursuit will be those who have, to the best of their ability, lived well, laughed often and loved much, who have gained the respect of children, who leave the world better than they found it, and who never fail to look for the best in others or give the best of themselves. As parents and educators, we must plant the seeds of morality, compassion, faithfulness, kindness and integrity for our children.
