Vision Our vision is to be a leader in community policing and the cornerstone of policing services to Chinese speaking people. Our mission is to work with the Chinese community, the Vancouver Police Department and other service providers to enhance the safety and quality of life for Chinese speaking people. Our mandate is to foster and strengthen positive relationships and facilitate communication between, the police and Chinese speaking people, thus enhancing the accessibility of police services to the Chinese community. We deliver crime prevention programs in partnership with the Vancouver Police Department, local community associations, schools and seniors centres to help reduce the incidence and impact of crime. We provide assistance to Chinese speaking victims of crime from the initial reporting, through referral to other agencies, to participation in the criminal justice system, including translation and interpretation at all stages. Within the Chinatown area we maintain patrol programs which lead to a safer, more vibrant environment for local businesses, residents and visitors. History Our centre was founded in 1992 by the Chinese Benevolent Association, the Chinese Cultural Centre, S. C. E. S., the Vancouver Chinatown Merchants Association and the Chinese Freemasons. We started with a small office on Main Street, in the heart of Chinatown. Since then we have moved twice and are now located at 118 Keefer Street at the street level of the Chinatown Parking Plaza. We have a large group of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers to help deliver a wide variety of programs.

Though the Canadian Club has evolved in the hundred years since its founding, we continue to actively pursue our goals to foster fellowship among people encouraging the celebration of Canadian identity, as well as to educate and stimulate thought around issues of national significance. Focusing primarily on organizing events featuring guest speakers who share their knowledge and insight, the Club also remains involved in unique initiatives including citizenship ceremonies for 'new Canadians' and the BC-resident Order of Canada recipients luncheon. Furthermore, we acted as a leader in the 1920's campaign to erect a cenotaph in Victory Square honouring Canada's war veterans. The Right Honourable Stephen Harper extends his greetings to The Canadian Club Vancouver and all its members. Read the letter from the Prime Minister's office here.

The Cedar Cottage Food Network Society (CCFN) is an independent, non-profit organization working toward more sustainable and just food systems at the neighbourhood level. The neighbourhood we serve is Kensington-Cedar Cottage, which runs north to south from Broadway to 41st, and west to east from Fraser to Nanaimo. Specifically, we have the following objectives: -Increase access to nutritious food; -Provide education on food skills and systems; -Partner with other organizations to expand the reach of their work and ours. We are one of several Neighbourhood Food Networks that exist in Vancouver. Together, we are helping the City of Vancouver reach its goal of becoming the Greenest City in the world by 2020.
