Studio1098 is owned and operated by gold smithing partners Kathryn Dieroff and Tamara Kronis. We make what we sell, including gemstone and diamond engagement rings, wedding bands, and other custom jewelery. We source diamonds and gemstones for our clients. We can help you restyle the jewellery you don't wear, and we also do repairs and restringing. People always want to know how Studio1098 is different than Tiffany's, Birks, Spence Diamonds, Cartier, and the other big jewellery stores. Studio1098 is a small boutique - I don’t use (or like) high-pressure sales tactics, and I design and make everything we sell with help from my team. My designs are influenced by many genres and eras of jewellery. I'm inspired by vintage and antique jewellery, especially Art Deco and Art Nouveau pieces. I've designed and made pieces influenced by my travels, design and architecture I love, geometry and nature. I like to play around with my designs so that there’s always something new going on in the studio. When I do custom design work, I am inspired by you - my client. I want to take the ideas that you have in your head and turn them into exactly what you’re looking for. I love gemstones and diamonds. In addition to being a goldsmith, I am also a gemmologist, so I know quite a bit about gemstones and diamonds. I even used to teach a course about the chemistry of gemstones in the Gemmology program at George Brown College. I have lots of experience sourcing diamonds and gemstones for Studio1098 clients. Sourcing unusual gemstones is among my specialties, so I can source diamonds and gemstones from all over the world, including Canadian diamonds and coloured diamonds. I care about the future, have taken steps to make sure that all of our diamonds and gemstones are conflict-free, and strive to maintain the highest standards in everything we do at Studio1098.
