Hawkins Institute Hawkins Institute was founded by Gail Hawkins in Toronto in 1995 as a specialized employment program for adults with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Very quickly, services were expanded to include social skills training, communication workshops and individualized skills assessments. Our commitment to people with autism goes beyond offering training - we employ and utilize their strengths in every production. Revenues generated from our on-demand training videos go to producing more programs - which hire more people on the spectrum. Gail Hawkins Gail is an innovative consultant and practitioner, a frequent guest speaker, and author of (Jessica Kingsley Publishers), recently featured as the book for employment advice in the acclaimed movie “Adam” staring Hugh Dancy and directed by Max Mayer- 2009. Gail is also a contributing author to Children, Youth and Adults with Asperger Syndrome - Integrating Multiple Perspectives (Jessica Kingsley Publishers), and professional commentator on the DVD Asperger Syndrome and Employment - A Personal Guide to Succeeding at Work (Jessica Kingsley Publishers).
