The current model of business education -- which divides business into a number of functional areas -- has changed little since its introduction in the early 20th century. Although this model provided global leadership for nearly a century, its inherent flaws are becoming increasingly problematic as the modern economy takes shape. One of the weaknesses of the traditional approach is that business problems rarely lie within the boundaries of functional areas, and cannot be resolved using the narrow models developed within those boundaries.

The University of Toronto Art Centre opened to the public in November of 1996. It was created by a collective effort of many University of Toronto staff and volunteers. An initial gift from the Delta Gamma Women's Fraternity made the conversion of the 1961 north wing of University College possible. The purpose of the Art Centre was to provide a home for three permanent collections of art belonging to the University: the Lillian Malcove Collection (which came to us by bequest in 1981), the University College Collection (Canadian art), and the large and eclectic University of Toronto Art Collection.

The UTGSU opposes all forms of discrimination and oppression, including those based on gender, ethnicity, race, class, ability, religion, spiritual beliefs, sexuality, sexual orientation, nationality, and age. (Adopted by Executive, July 16, 2003) The Graduate Students’ Union at the University of Toronto represents over 15, 000 students studying in over 85 departments. For many years this union has advocated for increased student representation, funding, and provided services such as health insurance, confidential advice, and a voice for the graduate student body on the various committees of the University. This section describes how the Union is organized, what we do, and how you can become involved. The best way for your Union to represent you, is to have your voice heard.
