Dr. Kris Dorken has vast chiropractic experience working with pregnancy, pediatrics and families in Toronto. He has worked in the largest chiropractic pediatric health centre in Canada, and has the CACCP designation. In addition to completing this program, Dr. Dorken has taken a course in, and is certified in the Webster Technique through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. He offers gentle chiropractic treatment throughout pregnancy and into the post-partum period. Dr. Kris has training in the following areas: Prenatal Care: Pre and Post-Natal Care Pediatric Nutrition & Nutrition for Special Needs Pediatric Radiology and Imaging Sacral-Occipital Technique & Thompson Technique Craniosacral Therapy The Challenged Child and Special Needs Scoliosis: Care and Management Chiropractic Family Wellness Care Conventional and Holistic Clinical Pediatric Medicine Neurosensory Integration On the personal side, Dr. Kris Dorken grew up on the west coast of Canada in Victoria, beautiful British Columbia. Early in life, he was inspired by his family’s weekend adventures, sometimes misadventures, on a small 28' sailboat. This began what would be a successful sailing passion until the age of 17 when he fulfilled a dream to sail around the world. Throughout the journey, Dr. Dorken was able to see first-hand many hardships people face throughout the world. While at University of King’s College (Dalhousie) doing his BA Hons., years of dinghy sailing, hauling on lanyards, rugby injuries, and leaning over ancient Greek and Latin texts had caught up with him. These created different health difficulties including low back and stomach issues. He pursued many avenues to find what created these problems. He saw many doctors, but it was his chiropractor that helped with his recovery. Since that time, he has received regular chiropractic care and has lived pain-free.
