Our main project is working on our sustainable kids sailing program in Sooke. With two one week Summer Day Camps in 2015 and 2014 three in 2013 and one in 2012 we are looking forward to a great 2016 where we will offer camps some time in July and August. Maybe even one day introductory classes in the schools. We have teamed up with Rush Adventures in Sooke at Coopers Cove and are really looking forward to what comes out of it. Teaching children from the ages of 6 to 14 to safely sail and have fun on the water at Sooke. As the children get older they are confident to move on to racing, teaching sailing or advanced sailing classes. If you would like more information on the Program we are modeled after, Mobile Optimist Sailing School (MOSS) or want to sign up look below. We do weekly keelboat sails on Tuesday NIghts at 6:00 PM (starting in June)and on Sundays during the shorter winter days, on the Sooke Basin or the straight or Juan de Fuca to introduce people to the joys of sailing. All ages welcome! We have dinghy days periodically bring your own... hope to have some Laser II races. There is also a Sailing Co-op in Sooke, an affordable way to introduce yourself to sailing or to keep your sailing skills up to date. We accept donations towards purchasing dinghies and running our sailing school for kids 6 to 14 years old and can offer a tax deductable receipt through National Sport Trust Fund.

Our non-profit organization is funded through both federal and provincial government initiatives. WorkLink is a registered charity in the Province of BC. We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors chosen from leaders in the community. In April 2012, WorkLink was selected to become one of the 73 WorkBC Employment Service Centres in BC. We currently offer employment services from either our Westshore storefront or our Sooke satellite office. In addition, we provide extended services to the community of Port Renfrew.

Sooke Options for Community Living Association (SOCLA) is a non-profit society that supports people who have developmental disabilities and their families in the Sooke area. SOCLA began as a group of parents, educators and caregivers in the Sooke area excited at the prospect of providing programs and services in the Sooke area for families with children, youth and adults with developmental and physical disabilities. In October 1998, SOCLA was incorporated and registered as a non-profit organization. Over the years the Board of Directors, members and employees have worked together to establish day camps during the summer, winter and spring school holidays for children and youth with disabilities, an adult day program, a life skills program for children and youth and support individual life skills contracts for adults.
