Growing up in a family of sports enthusiasts, Claire was encouraged to be active in sport and recreational pursuits in the outdoors. Ski racing eventually surpassed track & field, x-country running and her other love – gymnastics, and became her competitive sport of choice. The following years were spent all over North America & Europe racing FIS, Europa Cup & 1 World Cup as a member of Smithers Ski Club, BC Ski Team & Canadian Invitee Team. A difficult decision had to be made at some point – to keep chasing the dream or to step away. Claire took the opportunity to race in the USA on the highly competitive NCAA Division I Circuit while she pursued her education at the same time.
