We started our home based family business way back in ’96. The first product Lesley created came about because she’s an allergy sufferer. It was re-usable organic cotton handkerchiefs that pull out of a box like tissue. People thought we were crazy! They said things like “isn’t all cotton organic?” and “why would you make a product that is re-usable and lasts a long time? People won’t need to buy them over and over. It’s a bad business idea.” Also, our original logo design had the word “sustainability” in it. Hardly anyone knew what it meant so we had to keep explaining it. Fast forward to now. The world has finally caught on that we need to stop our disposable lifestyle and move to a far more earth-friendly approach of a re-usable lifestyle. The word “sustainable” has become widespread.
