Our history is a long, happy and proud one. Sage Youth was founded in 1992. Since then, 9, 000 children and youth have been given the gifts of literacy and hope with the support of our staff and over 2, 200 volunteer tutors/mentors. In 2002, Sage Youth created a division called the Excellence in Literacy Foundation (ELF) to provide community leaders and educators with the materials and training they need to engage students and quickly improve their literacy and learning skills. In 2005, the Excellence in Literacy Foundation (ELF) became an independent, registered charity.
