Maria’s Cabins are located on St. Joseph Island, Ontario Canada, 45km East of Sault Ste Marie via Highway 17. The Island is situated near the mouth of the St. Mary’s River in Northwestern Lake Huron. It is the second largest freshwater island in Canada and has been home to year round residents for generations. Our traditional 22 ft. diameter Tipi-Lodge is canvas covered during the summer months and invites guests to sit around the fire pit and share stories in the evenings. Guests are welcome to borrow one of the cruiser bikes to explore the Island’s pastoral country side or take a quick ride into the village to pick up supplies from the local grocery and liquor stores.
