History The year is 1924, and the then little town of Regina, Saskatchewan is about to play witness to automotive repair history. A man named Russ Karels was opening a new business on the outskirts of the city. History was made that day as a building devoted to something that wasn’t just a new business, but a new type of business opened its doors. The business in question, of course, is Regina Auto Body, the very first dedicated collision repairer in all of Western Canada. Today, when the term “collision repair facility” is slowly replacing “body shop” in the minds of the public, the thought of a business that just repairs collision damage is no longer unique. But back then, when you got into an accident the job of fixing your car would probably be handled by the town blacksmith. The frame machine of choice was a stout tree and some heavy chain. Transformation Fast forward eighty years and the industry and the world have changed almost beyond recognition. The same could be said of Regina Auto Body. Although they have occupied the same location since the very beginning, the building has undergone numerous changes in its transformation from an old fashioned body shop to a modern collision repair facility.
