In 1993, when few others knew of the needs of emerging Electoral Management Bodies, we were developing, a ready-to-use, easily handled, transportable, and all-in-one supply box; everything needed to run a polling station. A new concept was emerging and 8, 600 newly named “polling station kits” were assembled and shipped for Cambodia’s first democratic elections! Also on the list of materials, were 8 million security-printed ballots. This historical experience, an electoral trendsetter, involved secure printed materials in the Khmer language, customized metal ballot boxes, specialty polling book forms, special seals, Kit assembly, palletization and handling, the first real dedicated large cargo delivery of Election Supplies and Materials and, most impressive of all, setting the bar for timely delivery, at under less than 9 weeks.
