Centre 507 is an adult drop-in centre and support service, open to all who seek a safe and friendly environment. Serving Ottawa since 1983, the centre is at 507 Bank Street near the corner of Argyle. Homelessness, mental illness, addiction, health concerns, extreme poverty, unstable housing, chronic unemployment and physical abuse are examples of challenges faced by our participants. Each day we welcome between 80 and 165 individuals into Centre 507. Centre 507 is housed in Centretown United Church at 507 Bank Street in Ottawa and receives ongoing funding from the City of Ottawa, the Province of Ontario, the Government of Canada and the United Church of Canada. We are a Community Ministry of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa. We provide services and support for homeless or those at risk of homelessness. Open five days a week, our Day Program provides much-needed community services. The goals of our centre are to provide a supportive environment where visitors can maintain and improve their personal and mental health. The program takes place in a safe and secure venue, which encourages the development of trust.
