Causeway Foundation was established in 1998 and fundraises to support Causeway Work Centre’s programs and services and maintain and improve the building at 22 O’Meara St, Ottawa. In 2012, Causeway Foundation was accepted into the Imagine Canada Ethical Code Program. SOS Children’s Villages provides orphaned and abandoned children with a safe and loving home, and also helps strengthen vulnerable families. Through our Children’s Villages, SOS offers orphaned and abandoned children a family and a loving home with a mother to care and support them in a safe environment where their needs for food, health and shelter are met. SOS Children’s Villages also keeps families together through skills training and community development to ensure self sufficiency and prevent child abandonment. Special Interest Groups are agencies of the Association for Bahá’í Studies, which itself is an agency of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of Canada. Both the Association and its Special Interest Groups are structured as membership organisations with appointed administrators. Both exist to stimulate scholarly study of the Faith and its teachings, to promote a sound understanding of the Cause in academic circles, to demonstrate its relevance to the study of social issues, and to stimulate an appetite for learning within the Bahá’í community generally. In order to serve these purposes, the specific goals of the Special Interest Group system are as follows: to promote networking among ABS members, based on their interests, fields and professions; to mentor students and young people, in their studies and early professional life; to encourage, inspire and facilitate individual and collaborative Bahá’í scholarship; and to support, as appropriate, members’ “outward looking orientation” within their respective fields and professions, with particular emphasis on universities.

Shepherds of Good Hope is the largest non-profit organization dedicated to serving the poor and the homeless in Ottawa. We were founded in the basement of a church 31 years ago and today over 1600 people come through our doors every day. Some come for a hot meal from our Soup Kitchen; some come for clothing from our Clothing Program; some for groceries from our Grocery Program and some for a bed in one of our 8 locations across the city. Last year, 700, 000 meals were served from the soup kitchen and over 500 people slept in one of our 8 facilities every night.
